The Story Behind Our Art Studios
We believe that creating and making art is a unique human endeavor. Every one of us has the ability to make things using our hands, hearts and minds and we firmly believe that every one can be creative and learn new art skills. Art-making can be playful and serious at the same time and is a valuable way to learn about ourselves and to connect with others and build community. While our journey began with a passion for educating younger children about the world of art, today we offer unique experiences across two distinct spaces—the vibrant Leaping Dog studio and the calming Sleeping Cat studio- for students of all ages and levels.
About Leaping Dog Art Studio
Discover the art of ceramics! Leaping Dog is our lively pottery studio dedicated to learning how to work with clay using both hand-building techniques and pottery wheel techniques. It is definitely hands-on and often messy but always fun!
About Sleeping Cat Art Studio
Unwind and gain new clarity at Sleeping Cat! At this location, we provide a relaxing home for all things non-clay. We draw, we paint, we collage, we weave, we make jewelry, we paper mache, etc. Meet new people or bring a friend. Find your calm and master a craft.
Meet Jen and the Rest of Our Team
Jen is the heart of the studio, where she runs the business and teaches. When she isn’t in the studio, she enjoys cooking and music and works as a freelance portrait painter and illustrator. Her wonderful family, including her two daughters and two fur babies (are her biggest inspiration. Her passion for art, teaching and community is the foundation of both Leaping Dog and Sleeping Cat Art Studios.
